FAQ

OUR FAQ IS DESIGNED TO GIVE OUR CLIENTS AND PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS ANSWERS TO COMMON SERVICE AND INDUSTRY QUESTIONS. IF YOU SEE SOMETHING THAT WE ARE MISSING, PLEASE EMAIL US SO WE CAN ADD IT TO OUR PAGE TO HELP OTHERS. WE AT EPIC LAWN CARE & PEST CONTROL APPRECIATE FEEDBACK!

  • HOW DOES EPIC DETERMINE PRICING?MOST OF OUR SERVICES ARE PRICED BY SQUARE FOOTAGE. SOME SERVICES LIKE PEST CONTROL ARE PRICED BY THE LINEAR FEET OF THE STRUCTURE WE ARE TREATING. YOUR PRICE IS CUSTOM TO YOUR PROPERTY SO YOU ARE ONLY PAYING FOR WHAT WE ARE SERVICING.
  • IS EPIC A FRANCHISE?EPIC IS NOT A FRANCHISE. WE ARE A LOCALLY OWNED COMPANY BASED OUT OF KENNEWICK.
  • WHEN DO I NEED TO WINTERIZE MY SPRINKLER SYSTEM?WE RECOMMEND SHUTTING DOWN YOUR SYSTEM BEFORE NOVEMBER TO AVOID FREEZE DAMAGE. THE IRRIGATION CANALS IN THE TRI-CITIES AREA TYPICALLY SHUT DOWN IN MID OCTOBER. EACH IRRIGATION DISTRICT SHUTS DOWN AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND ON A TENATIVE SCHEDULE BASED ON AREA. THE SCHEDULE CAN BE FOUND ON THE DISTRICTS WESBSITE.
  • DOES EPIC PERFORM BACKFLOW TESTING?

WE DO NOT PERFORM BACKFLOW TESTING. FOR A FULL LIST OF CERTIFIED TESTERS IN KENNEWICK VISIT THE KENNEWICK CITY WEBSITE.

  • IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO BEFORE MY FERT APPLICATION?TALL GRASS SHOULD BE MOWED A DAY OR TWO BEFORE THE APPLICATION. DO NOT MOW YOUR GRASS ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPLICATION AND DO NOT MOW 2-3 DAYS AFTER APPLICATION.
  • IM GETTING AN APPLICATION TODAY, IS IT SAFE FOR MY PETS? WHEN CAN I LET THEM BACK OUT?AS SOON AS THE APPLICATION IS DRY (USUALLY A FEW HOURS IN COLDER/WETTER WEATHER) YOUR PETS SHOULD BE SAFE TO GO BACK ON THE LAWN.
  • THERE IS A FLAG IN MY YARD. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

WE HAVE CUSTOM COLORED FLAGS THAT COORDINATE WITH SPECIFIC SERVICES. THE FLAG COLORS HELP OUR STAFF COMMUNICATE IMPORTANT NOTIFICATIONS FOR EACHOTHER AND YOU AS OUR EPIC CLIENT.

YELLOW FLAGS INDICATE A RECENT PEST CONTROL SERVICE WAS COMPLETED ON THE PROPERTY.

GREEN FLAGS INDICATE A RECENT FERTILIZER APPLICATION WAS APPLIED TO THE TURF.

ORANGE FLAGS INDICATE A RECENT WEED CONTROL APPLICATION WAS APPLIED TO THE BEDS.

BLUE FLAGS INDICATE AN IRRIGATION SERVICE WAS PERFORMED. A WHITE FLAG INDICATES A BREAK OR PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED (TYPICALLY DURING A IRRIGATION SERVICE)

RED FLAGS ARE TYPICALLY USED BY STAFF MEMBERS TO COMMUNICATE WITH EACHOTHER. FOR EXAMPLE, IF A TECH BREAKS A SPRINKLER DURING A ROUTINE SERVICE, HE OR SHE WOULD USE RED TO FLAG THE SPRINKLER SO ANOTHER TECH PERHAPS AN APPLICATION TECH WOULD BE WARNED WHILE DOING A SERVICE HE OR SHE WAS PERFORMING.
